This booklet was originally written to provide background information for the Birmingham Progressive Synagogue's fourth community weekend. The theme of the occasion was "Jacob's Ladder -Stairway to Jewish Spirituality". It includes material prepared by the author for three previous workshops at the Bournemouth regional LIMMUD, together with extracts from the first (and current) edition of his book "God is not an Uncle", plus new texts and illustrations.
